The art of piloted systems design
This book is drawn from the experience of numerous industrial projects and studies carried out by the author with teams from Sherpa Engineering in the automotive, aeronautics, energy and space fields. It relates the successes, the difficulties, the pitfalls to be avoided in designing and evaluating technical systems based on concepts and models that allow reasoning in a virtual world.
Model your ideas, make your models a reality
Following on from volume 1 which defined what a system is and how it is conceived in a systemic approach, volume 2 focuses on modeling and simulation as well as on the tools which make the representations designed in the system calculable and executable in the the conceptual framework of volume 1. It is the union of the two that leads to the operational nature of the systemic approach for engineers
A regenerative system for space
The purpose of volume 3 is to use the example of the regenerative system MELiSSA (Micro Ecological Life Support System Alternative) from the European Space Agency (ESA) as a common thread to illustrate the methodology defined in volumes 1 and 2. The mission of MELiSSA is to develop a “miniaturized biological ecosystem for human space flights” to go to the MOON or to MARS.
