This book is drawn from the experience of numerous industrial projects and studies carried out by the author with teams from Sherpa Engineering in the automotive, aeronautics, energy and space fields. It relates the successes, the difficulties, the pitfalls to be avoided in designing and evaluating technical systems based on concepts and models that allow reasoning in a virtual world.

A regenerative system for space

The purpose of volume 3 is to use the example of the regenerative system MELiSSA (Micro Ecological Life Support System Alternative) from the European Space Agency (ESA) as a common thread to illustrate the methodology defined in volumes 1 and 2. The mission of MELiSSA  is to develop a “miniaturized biological ecosystem for human space flights” to go to the MOON or to MARS.
